Do you mind if we film you chaps??

So we had idea sorted but now we needed to see if the band and Dave would actually want is to film and make a video about them!

Our producer at the time was responsible for contacting both Dave Snocken and The City Calls. Below are the initial emails sent and the replies.

So the band and Dave were really excited by the idea and the wheels of our creation started rolling. We firstly had to designate rolls between the group and the shooting schedule. In terms of job responsibilities we all decided what we were going to pretty early on by all focusing on our strengths and designated ourselves into the roles we thought we would be the best at.

James Ferris (director for behind the scenes/ camera man/ assistant sound operator/ assistant producer)

Josh Partridge (director for music video shoot, producer, camera man/ jib and dolly operator

Momoko Hill (health and safety/ admin)

Joe Jackson (extra pair of hands) (Technical support/ general assistant/ runner)

Alexandra Tingley (sound operator, camera assistant, admin)

We then needed to decide when we wanted to film. The band wanted their music video ready to release in the New Year so we wanted to have everything ready and completed pretty early on. Below is our initial shooting schedule.

13 December: Music video shoot

19 December: Interview shoot

05 January: Rough cut completed

20 January: Final Cut completed + motion graphics

25 January: DVD completed

27 January: Delivery

We contacted the band and discussed dates and when we wanted everything done. Due to issues within the group, which I won’t mention, we didn’t meet many of these deadlines. Momoko in our group was facing personal problems as we started the project, so Josh was forced to take over the producers role which I know was difficult as he already had so much to do within the group! I tried to help as much as I could by taking an assistant director and producer role and trying my best to keep the group happy and in regular contact with each other.

So we had our roles, we had a plan, next up was the big shoot….
